89-year old Harold Cavilliere sits on his front porch and sells Mardi Gras beads at a great price.

He sells his beads for $5 a bag.

His home on Magazine Street near the corner of Upperline is his "store".

For 60 years he's been selling his bargain beads.  Cavilliere said you don't need to go to a bead store when you can buy quality beads from him at a great price.

"They're a lot cheaper from me," he said.

Harold collects the beads from Carnival parades.  In years past, he would walk around with a cane pole and take the beads off the telephone lines.

With the money he makes off the beads he plays.

"Good times.  I go to the casino. I go to Harrah's casino."

Harold loves the spirit of Mardi Gras.  Bead collecting and selling has become his ultimate hobby.  His hobby is quickly becoming one of his legacies.
